Curator of Talent

Los Angeles, CA, United States of America (Remote)

The Talent Resource Manager is Secret Level’s central air-traffic controller — the person who always knows who’s doing what, who’s available, who’s overloaded, and who’s the perfect fit for any emerging need. This role manages the flow of artists, animators, writers, producers, engineers, and AI specialists across all projects, ensuring the studio runs with precision and zero creative bottlenecks. You’ll balance workloads, anticipate resourcing challenges, and maintain real-time visibility into the studio’s full global talent network. Your job is keeping the entire machine humming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all project resourcing, including assigning talent to active, upcoming, and future productions.

  • Maintain a constantly updated database of internal + external talent: skills, bandwidth, specialties, time zones, rates, and availability.

  • Monitor workloads across teams and adjust allocations to prevent burnout and ensure efficiency.

  • Work closely with producers and PMs to understand upcoming needs, schedules, and shifting priorities.

  • Serve as the connective tissue between creative leads, production, and engineering to ensure shots, sequences, tasks, and deliverables are properly staffed.

  • Identify gaps in talent and proactively source freelancers, specialists, or new creators as needed.

  • Track performance, reliability, communication, and output quality to ensure world-class staffing decisions.

  • Manage onboarding and off-boarding of new talent across disciplines.

  • Forecast resource demand across the slate to support strategic planning and recruitment.

  • Support the development of scalable workflows for the AI-native production pipeline.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a production staffing, resource management, talent operations, or producer role (animation, VFX, game dev, post-production, or creative agencies strongly preferred).

  • Deep understanding of how creative and technical teams work — shot-based pipelines, animation cycles, post workflows, or AI-assisted production.

  • Proven experience juggling multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities.

  • Strong comfort with spreadsheets, project management tools, and resourcing software.

  • Experience coordinating talent globally across time zones.

Soft Skills

  • Master multitasker who thrives in fast-paced environments.

  • Stellar communication — clear, calm, and direct.

  • Strategic thinker with a sixth sense for future staffing conflicts.

  • Relationship-builder who maintains trust with creatives and producers.

  • Hyper-organized, detail-driven, and impossible to overwhelm.

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with AI content creation tools, pipelines, or workflows.

  • Experience in animation studios, VFX houses, post facilities, or game studios.

  • Background managing large freelance networks or distributed teams.
